Constant glitch with the Shift key and switching layouts in the Windows terminal (RDP). How to fix?

Symptoms:
After switching the layout (it doesn't matter from Russian to English or from English to Russian), the following is observed:
- if the first character typed is in lower case, everything will be ok;
- if the first character typed is in uppercase (exclusively with the Shift key, not CapsLock), then it will be typed in the correct new layout, but after that the layout will return to the original (unswitched) one (for example, such texts are obtained: “standard HEAD” ( wanted to type HTML) or "Bdguesscher technology" (Bluetooth)).
Client - Windows XP SP3, servers - different (Windows family).
Does anyone know how to cure this? (Google refused to help).

Try a different USB or PS/2 keyboard, or use the on-screen keyboard.

CapSwitch.exe as an option

Am experiencing the same problem. Shift sticks, you just have to press Shift again to return the layout to the desired state.
