In general, if you leave the battery in the camera (and most likely everyone does this), then after a while it (the camera) does not turn on due to the fact that the battery is dead.
Although, before, it was a matter of leaving the camera on for a couple of weeks, and the battery did not discharge at all.
What could be the reason?

Most likely there is a leakage current, or the battery has already served its purpose and cannot store a charge for a long time.

Didn't get wet, didn't take pictures in the rain? Didn't drop? Maybe kz somewhere?
