Why is the wiring of the PC power supply burning (B.P. converted to power the electrolyzer)?

The wiring on the 12V power supply burns, smokes and smells. I don't see a direct short circuit. Can this come from: connection through "crocodiles" (the wires are not soldered to them, but simply pressed by them), a small load on the wires (a small number of stainless steel sheets in the electrolyzer) or is it required to put a resistor so that the wiring does not burn?

Large current flow. Measure with an ammeter by connecting it in series. It is unlikely that there will be a large current from crocodiles, but it is still better to use soldering.
