Behavior of SSD with a large number of projects?

The other day I thought about what would happen to the SSD on the poppy if all the projects continue to be done on the internal drive. Worried about the weight and number of files in the node modules folders ...
Constant deployment of the project, and at the end, deleting node modules, how quickly will it lead to the death of the SSD?
Does it make sense to take an external hard drive for these purposes?
