The speed of a good HDD is no more than 1 megabyte per second.
The speed of the average SSD ranges from 15-60 megabytes per second.
Modern work on a computer is a bunch of read-write threads. A regular HDD can't handle it - and the computer slows down.
This is if we are talking about a disk for the system, database, hot data.
And if you do not plan to install an OS on it, but use a disk to store an archive of photos, for example, then an HDD is better - because for the same price a larger volume.
