Asus K501UX ram expansion?

Good afternoon. I bought a subject, it has 8GB of memory installed, the sites write that it can be expanded up to 12. Actually, there are several questions about this:
1. I was looking for 12GB strips, however, I did not see any. Does this mean that I need to buy a 16GB stick of which 12 will be visible? (It seems like this laptop has one memory slot).
2. Will any memory fit it or do I need to buy a specific manufacturer (this is not about connectors, but about the fact that there are some restrictions on laptops)?
Thanks in advance.

All answers can be found in the specification on the manufacturer's website.

OnBoard Memory 4 GB , 1 x DIMM socket for expansion up to 12 GB
SDRAM only 8) costs a module. For maximum capacity, you need to replace a separate 4Gb module with an 8Gb module.
I didn’t see the supported modules in the documentation right off the bat, or at least the memory standard, so the most correct way would be to look at the marking on the existing module and select something similar. Most likely there DDR3 L -1600. If so, then you need exactly low-voltage memory with the appropriate marking.
PS Judging by the video on YouTube, replacing the memory on this model is not the most convenient. Be careful. The type of memory can be viewed by various utilities without opening the case.
