Windows Server 2016 DHCP, multiple areas + DCHP Relay on Mikrotik does not issue an address if there is no second ip on the DHCP server interface. Is he needed?
Good afternoon. Maybe I do not understand the situation correctly .... Since I am doing it for the first time.
There is a DHCP server on windows 2016 with two areas (192.168.145.0 and 10.11.12.0).
The DHCP host has one ip 10.11.12.13.
Windows DHCP does not try to give an address to the 192.168.145.0 area if the dchp server host does not have an ip from 192.168.145.x.
As soon as you add - everything works fine. This is fine? Really it will be necessary to invent ip to a host if areas will be >50 for example?
I tried to merge into a super area - it did not help.
Mikrotik is configured as DHCP Relay. In the relay settings, dhcp server 10.11.12.13 and local address 192.168.145.66 are specified (it is also in ip>addresses and looks at the port with clients).
Checked with WireShark:
1. If there is an additional ip:
2. If DHCP has only one ip (10.11.12.13)
As you can see, there is no longer an ARP request from DHCP.

Issue resolved. I hope that my ordeals with this will help someone not to make mistakes at the start and not to waste time. Everything turned out to be much simpler .... but there are nuances in everything and it is a pity that there is no mention of this in the manuals.
My mistake was that I was trying to feed the DHCP server a request from a relay that didn't come from a gateway. In my lab, Windows Server didn't have a gateway at all. When I specified ip MT as the gateway, everything fell into place.
And just a trite thoughtful consideration of this picture helped:
