Windows does not see the grunt command?

Installed grunt globally on windows 10

npm i -g grunt-cli
npm i -g grunt

but when checking the version (grunt -v) gives
bash error: grunt: command not found

If you have installed software under Windows, but you are trying to use Ubuntu Linux Subsystem under Windows (well, or vice versa).
