100% sure not. It's beneficial for Microsoft to have everyone migrate to Win8 (Store, WP8, etc.). Plus, you will need to spend less resources on supporting an already outdated system. However, as well as manufacturers of software and hardware.
Well, XP did not fall in price after the release of whist, so we can draw certain conclusions.
On the other hand, upgrading to Win8 Pro will cost most Win7 owners $20-$40, so I'd rather look in that direction.
