Will two sticks of 8GB RAM be combined with the existing two sticks of 4GB?

There are the following mother , percent and two slats of RAM .
The question is: buy another set of the same (2x4gb) or a similar one , but with a larger volume for the slats (2x8gb)? As you can see, the manufacturer, timings, frequencies, etc. match. In addition to volume.
It is clear that the first option (2x4GB + 2x4GB) fits perfectly.
But will dual-channel mode work with the second option (2x4GB + 2x8GB)? Are there any losses compared to the first option?

as far as I know. quad-channel memory mode only works in the latest motherboards with DDR4. So you can not worry, each set will work for you in dual-channel mode, if you insert the memory sticks correctly.

on x99 a similar (4+8)x2 configuration works in dual channel.
will it work on z170? maybe)
there is no reliable information about the loss, I did not test it.
I don't think it's worth worrying about.
