Will the performance of the MacBook change if I install Linux?

Good afternoon, I want to put myself on a MacBook Linux (I have work experience), I want to know which distribution kit to install for development and minimum load on the system so that there is no extra, since I can install everything I need myself

State? MacBook? Linux? Java? xfce?
Omg, just some kind of porridge.
Leave everything as it is.
If you want to learn Linux - study it, put it on a virtual machine, try it.
If you want to learn Java, learn it on an apple
If you want to learn Java, but really want Linux, install any popular LTS distribution kit to study Java, and not configure the system and third-party libraries
If you want speed, throw away Java. And go to the frontend
Which XFCE ? Read the reviews and see the real behavior of things: it saves 100-300 megabytes of RAM in memory compared to the latest Gnome or Unity. Don't like effects - adjust compiz\metacity and there will be no difference at all
All these tiles or "mini" environments are for those who come to them themselves, and not to whom they are advised.
