Which linux distribution to install for comfortable programming?

I spent two days, but I could not install nodejs even with the help of this forum and the ubuntu forum. And so I thought that if there was a distribution kit that would not require hardware, on which you can play the most modern games and on which you would not have to install regular nodejs for several days, then I'd rather spend an hour reinstalling than spend a few more days.
Does such a distribution exist in nature?

Or maybe it's not linux that's the problem, but your misunderstanding of something?
I had ubunta for a long time on a laptop with the most miserable atom, and development was carried out without problems on rails in RubyMine, which was not sickly eating resources.
