Will the 9600GT video card - DVI-D-hdmi adapter - hdmi-hdmi cable - DVI-D-hdmi adapter - monitor work?

It does not work for me.
The bottom line was that the monitor and the computer were connected by a dvi-d - vga cable.
For the sake of lengthening, I decided to replace it with an hdmi cable terminated on both sides with DVI-D-hdmi adapters. The result should have been a long DVI-D.
I insert it into the second DVI-D input on the monitor, select it from the menu and see a message that there is no signal. I take out-insert - writes that there is no signal.

DVI -> HDMI -> DVI -> VGA - DVI
-> HDMI -> DVI will not work
on them VGA. Unfortunately, DVI -> HDMI adapters do not use these pins.
