Will removing the bottom cover of the laptop help the cooling?

A colleague is waiting for a laptop that will soon arrive to him from abroad. The previous owner warned that under load temperatures reach ~ 80-85 C. This laptop will always stand in one place.

Tell me, if you remove the bottom cover of the laptop, will it reduce temperatures? Will it make it easier for the fans to work? How much such operation can harm the laptop?

It can do harm - an employee will spill coffee on the table and that's it, or dust will accumulate there.
Change the thermal paste, clean it from dust, put it on a laptop stand with fans to clear your conscience and go.
