Why does ubuntu start to slow down when laptop is powered on?
Hello, I have Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on my EasyNote ENTF71BM laptop.
Quite often (but not always) there is a problem when I insert the power cable into the laptop, everything starts to freeze and the system may just freeze.
On Linux recently, so it's hard to deal with such problems, I did not find a solution on the forums.
During such a freeze, I threw the dmesg log into a file. I won’t post everything, so as not to flood, tell me what exactly should I look for there?
ps there was also a problem with shutting down, the laptop refused to turn off at all, only with the button, I solved it by turning off some module, I don’t remember now

It was on Windows - replacing the network adapter removed the problem.
Try connecting a different adapter first - perhaps the problem is not with Ubuntu, but with the hardware.
Do you have any messages displayed in dmesg when you connect the power cable?
If you run htop or iotop and see if some process lights up at the moment when the system starts to slow down?
In theory, connecting the cable switches the mode from economical to normal. At this stage, some event may be triggered, which leads to a hang.
Maybe try reinstalling Power Manager?
