Will a weak computer be enough to read / write points to a storage card?

Right now, at work, the boss wants to install such a system. He asks me to assemble a computer, he would like to consult with you. There is a gas station, they are going to make a storage system there. Collect a PC at the lowest price? Is it worth it to fork out for a hard drive, or is there not much difference there either?

Yes, any computer will work - I gave an old man with 128M RAM a second life at work (WinXP pulls quite well) - I assembled a terminal on it, I made software in Python.

It's worth picking up. A weak computer is enough. There is an old junk at hand - collect from it. Not at hand - buy a platform like this:

IMHO, a great machine. Dual-core Intel Celeron processor (faster than Atom) with passive cooling + two network cards + video card with HDMI + sound + COM port = universal micro-computer for all occasions.
What we just did not make of it! Industrial and on-board computers, media centers, ordinary office computers, payment terminals, slot machines, routers and mini-servers... Reliable, not hot, quite fast (Windows 7 just flies in office work).
There has always been an attractive price, now it has risen in price during the crisis, but still a good choice.
