WIFI in the city center - how to secure secure access?

Good day, dear users!
I will be brief. I live in the residential center of the city, and as in any place affected by urbanization, there are WiFi points everywhere (as, in fact, in my apartment). I support progress in reasonable terms, however, I began to notice that a large number of points began to overload the 2.4 Hz channel and my already simple modem began to fail.
This is my question: what can be done for quiet access to the Internet in a congested range? I found two possible solutions for myself:
1) Buy a stronger WiFi modem. And move it to another range. I heard something about 5 Hz, but I have no knowledge in this area.
2) Go to the router using LAN cables (I read about it on one forum).
I also read that the speeds indicated on the modem boxes (600 Mbit / s) are just fairy tales, this cannot be achieved in the city. Another argument in favor of cables.

@Gallifreian

check which channels are less loaded, there are 13 of them for 2.4 and set yourself, current Internet service providers selling a Wi-Fi router with a connection expose 1 channel to everyone.

@OLS

Cover the walls with paintable wallpaper and paint with EMP shielding paint. Third-party WiFi networks will not be scary to you, however, unfortunately, the quality of cellular communication will deteriorate sharply.

There are actually few options, in addition to what you suggested, there is the following:
1) Scatter around the house mini wifi routers close to your workplace (power them by PoE)
2) Put channel 13 on the wifi router (possibly , you will have to reflash the router)
At the expense of speed - of course you will not achieve it. Without going into theory and practice, it will be very cool if you intend at least half of this. On the other hand, the wired uplink in the access point is still most likely 100MB
