Wifi drops on laptop, what to do?

Such a thing, on the laptop from its very purchase, wi-fi was buggy. It was too lazy to go for 200 km to change the laptop and I just changed the adapter. But nothing has changed. I changed drivers, which I just did not do. On Windows, the wi-fi may not fall for the whole day, or maybe 2 times a day. On ubunt it is generally critical, it is worth giving a load more drops immediately. The movie you turn on falls every 3 minutes. Falls off as follows:
The indicator shows that the signal is normal as it was (only on ubunt, the Wi-Fi signal is reduced to 2 divisions). There is a connection without any exclamation marks. But there is no internet. I just turn wifi on and off to get internet back up. This is observed when using a different router and when using a different provider. Need help.
Before that there was Ralink
Right now Atheros AR9285

If possible, try to rent a USB WiFi adapter for a "try out"... to make sure that the problem is still in the hardware...
As an option: turn off the Blutooth adapter. Well, actually look into the event log - maybe you will find something useful there? ...

Well, if so, it's better to buy a USB "whistle" for a waffle and see for a start whether it works or not. the problem can be everywhere: either in the lack of PCI power or the instability of the signal to interference (it happens even because of one microwave everything falls off), the working channel, or the location. I had a similar case when the signal completely fell off at a normal location, scanned the air via SSIDer, changed the channel on the router - set it to 13, chose 40 MHz channel width. And everything worked. Although our legislation allows channels 1 to 11, but this is only to my advantage, because. nothing was broadcast in this range. So play around with these settings, it might help too.

Somehow I encountered a similar problem (constantly / periodically fell off / buggy Wi-Fi), the solution was to update the BIOS.

very bad router. Try to substitute the router closer to the antenna of the laptop. There was a similar problem (it was a pain to buy a new router), and this method solved the problem.
