What piece of iron is faulty in the system unit?

Good afternoon.
Help, please, to determine the malfunction in the gland!
A friend from work brought a system manager .. he says - he plays tanks for an hour and the computer completely freezes. The lock on the keyboard does not respond to us .. I
checked the temperature of the GPU-Z and Everest - everything is ok. I checked the disk with a checkdisk / f / r - everything is ok. And now the system has completely stopped loading - says an error reading the system disk, press ctrl alt del. In another computer, the hard one worked with a bang, the system booted Pts. quickly - everything is ok.
When you try to download the Windows installer from a USB flash drive, the installer takes a VERY long time to load (on the "Installation start" screen) - as a result, it reboots (does not even reach the start of the installation) and says that the flash drive is damaged. Retrying after the format and rewriting the installer to the flash drive - again his computer "breaks" my flash drive. The flash drive is excellent - I installed the "evil-computer" from it many times before and after that - everything is as it should be ..
It used to happen to him - the computer didn't cut it ... the fans spin and that's it, the screen does not light up - it will stand for a couple of days - and everything is okay ...
I sin on my mother. ASUS m2n-sli. I think (hope) that it is she who is pouring.
I'm not an iron master .. but I'm afraid - we'll buy a mother - but the problem will turn out to be something else .... RAM? Vidyuha? (only PCI-e, no integrated ...)
Although .. most likely the mother ...

Turned out to be tough. Took it to the service. Plus, two conders on the mother were swollen. But this is not a problem .. And in another computer, the hard one wound up with a bang, since the other computer had different hardware, and the system did not load most of the drivers, it loaded at 800 * 600, apparently not addressing the broken sectors.

Run memtest, for sure memory is a skiff.

Heh, there were similar troubles, once everything was turned on, the next inclusion was no way.
It was also difficult to set the axis, also after turning on POST, the answer came in about 15-20 seconds, before that a black screen, and also went into reboot for unknown reasons and loaded for a long time, it turned out to be a PSU capacitor , after replacing everything was like a watch, but before this also sinned on the mother of ASUS extreme 3. Otherwise
, try another video card to install and drive (I had something similar with it)

First of all, run the memtest, if it knocks out errors, then just try to distort the memory and the percent (get it and put it in place), you can clean the memory contacts, and run the memtest again, if the test knocks out errors, then memory, throw another (although 2 ddr is already harder find than3) but still. If it hangs during the memtest, that even the keyboard stops responding, then the problem is closer to the mother.

There were similar problems. First of all, we check the memory. In my case memtest found nothing.
- We try to load without a hard drive (turn off both power and sata), for example, from a live image flash drive.
- If everything is OK (as it was with me), then we recall the bright days of the first pentiums and changing satash cables, slots and the order of connecting hard drives and drives, we find a working configuration. Sometimes there is a problem in the contacts on these cables, this can be partially fixed by replacing the cables with a new type, with latches.
- If it does not boot from a USB flash drive, then either the mother or the power supply.
- If it was loaded from a flash drive, but juggling with cables did not save - most likely the power supply.

I faced a similar problem - it turned out to be a conder on a bp. Test another bp (look at the one that is, most likely you will see the cant with the naked eye), then memory is already in priority.
