Why is there no password-protected access to the network share from win 2008 r2?
Hello dear! Tell me please.
Is Win 2008 r2 ent sp1, on it a server file role. peer-to-peer network. There is a ball with permissions. When you try to access it from a working computer, it says "Windows cannot access \\ip" ... i.e. does not even reach the authorization window ...
Ping from the slave. computer, to the server is. Services checked. Turned off the firewall, no anti-virus .. Checked the policies. In the "sharing options" is network discovery and access with password protection. In a network environment, the server is visible, but there are no balls on it! What can be the problem? Maybe I missed something somewhere?

on the server there are accounts with passwords? I had a similar situation until I set the account password
The problem is in a particular computer, when I was playing with updates, it also stopped coming in, although it comes in from another computer without problems (the problem is not in the server) and the system version was the same before trying to update. Exit or deploy Backup or reinstall - which most likely will have to be done.
