the red LED is on on the SAS disk, the documentation briefly says that hdd failed. But the system and in general the server works well so far. I can not understand on what basis he determines that hdd failed.

You probably have a mirror or ride-5, if the disk is red, then change it.
More details can be found in ilo or in the HP utility (HP smart manager, mine).

"hdd failed" - dead, if in a simple way. And no matter what and why it is wrong. Change it before it's too late!
Here the second red eye will light up - an ass will happen: the server will get up.
