Why is the processor overheating?

Hello dear habrchane.
Today I discovered that the processor began to overheat. Checked the cooler, it works fine.
The temperature of the cores reaches 70 degrees.

Overheating starts even in idle time, while the task manager shows that the processor is loaded by 1%.

The apartment is cool enough to refer to the air temperature.

What could be the reason for this overheating?

Thank you very much in advance!

@All3

what kind of processor?
if you go into the bios and leave the computer for 5-10 minutes, then go to the “health” tab, what temperature does it show?
if the thermal paste is in order, then there are two options - 1) you either shorted something on the board 2) the temperature sensor died.

I had such a problem. I got the cooler and cleaned it of dust. And just in case, I bought thermal paste and re-smeared. But the temperature hasn't come down that much. I asked around - they said that it was already old, so it was warming up.
