Why is the printer not printing over the network?
Good day!
I have such a problem here: computers periodically stop seeing printers. After restarting the printer, everything starts working. There are also problems with scanning. It happens for a couple of days everything works without problems, but then it refuses to work and you have to reboot.
Attempts to solve:
Changed the firmware of the printers - it did not help.
All security settings under the switch ports were canceled (it is unlikely to help) - it did not help.
Everything works great at the L2 level, but I can’t leave it like that - the strict requirements of the regulatory body.
Printers brand Konica Minolta, different models, IP is set statically.
Network:
Printers and users in different VLANs. Traffic passes through the L3 switch. The ACL allows all IP traffic to and from the printer. The default printer route is on PaloAlto. There, too, open all traffic on all ports. There is nothing blocking in the logs.
Switches:
L2 - Cisco 2960X
L3 - C3850
Firmware version:
L2 - c2960x-universalk9-mz.152-2.E7.bin
L3 - CAT3K_CAA-UNIVERSALK9
Port-security, arp inspection limit, dhcp snooping limit are enabled on all L2 ports of the switches. Printer VLAN is not checked by DHCP snooping (because addresses are static), portfast is enabled.
If someone had a similar problem, please share the solution. Thanks to!
