Why is the data on the hard drive jumbled?

On a media player with a built-in hard drive, photos and videos were mixed in folders (everything was sorted into folders, now everything is in random folders), and some of the folders and photos have been deleted altogether. Why did this happen and is it possible to somehow recover the files?
I tried to restore the Recuva program, but she did not find anything.

@JockerJoe

File system corruption is very likely.

Firewall first. And so, without connection logs on both sides, are you hoping to find psychics here?

@v_cirill

do on the client side ssh -vvv [email protected]
most likely it will be written there for what reason the connection was not established.
