Why is it customary to turn off the cooler immediately after turning off the PC?

Hello!
A slightly stupid question. From a certain point of view, it is interesting.
Many who experience problems with overheating of the computer turn it off for n time to prevent overheating. (Personally, I do this when something very large compiles 1-1.5 hours). A logical question arose:
Why not provide for the following thing. Does the cooler continue to work for some time after turning off (sleep mode, etc.) the computer? I'm not saying to do this in bulk, but if you wish, it would be cool.
Approximately the same thing is in the classic Zhiguli. The fan continues to run when the engine is off. :)
PS I am not some kind of geek, nerd or lover of the domestic auto industry, I just explained it with a clear example.
Thank you.

Almost all projectors turn off the cooler some time after the lamp is turned off.
That is, in those devices in which engineers have thought out cooling after shutdown - it is.
In a computer, this is NOT necessary, because after turning off the computer, the processor immediately stops heating up, so it will not be able to heat up MORE than it already was at the time of the power failure.
And the fact that the neighboring components heat up a little, giving you the impression that the heating continues, is not scary.
If your computer simply overheats, you need to put the cooling system in order.

Maybe just change the cooler, since he can not cope?
With a normal cooling system, after-cooling after shutdown is not required.

A normal computer, like a normal car, does not overheat, no matter what load you turn on for whatever time.
If you have such a question, then you should take care of upgrading your cooling system.

One solution is to vacuum the cooler :)

It’s kind of stupid to turn off the computer
. You’re working like this, bam, I decided to turn it off for two hours, wait until it cools down, the boss comes up and asks why you’re not working, but you, yes, I’m cooling the computer for the
first time I hear that the computer should be turned off

On Zhiguli, the cooler does not turn off, not because it is needed, but because the design is clumsy.

There are some models of computer power supplies in which the fan runs for about 5 minutes at low speeds. But in general, with a working cooling system, the work of which is not interfered with by dirt, dust, the computer does not overheat during operation. Normal temperatures are 40-60C. If we are talking about a laptop, then they always have overheating associated either with dirt, dust that has blocked the air outlet through the radiator or, less often, with a failure of the thermotube.
