Why is Apple selling MacOS if it's already free on Macs and can't be installed on PCs?
Hello! Recently I came across that you can buy MacOS on the official apple website: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-xm...
And now I'm completely confused: You can't officially install MacOS on a PC , Hackintosh only, and updates are free for Macbooks, so why are they serving this?

This is an old OS of those times when they were still given for money. MacOS became free not so long ago.
and for macbooks updates are free, so why are they serving this?
Plus there is such a thing as "physical media". For example, you can buy a disc from Microsoft separately (without a license) and a separate key (sticker, certificate, license). So Apple can also make a little money on a "physical medium".
That's right, systems up to Mountain Lion were sold (and are being sold) for money. They've been free since Mavericks.
