Problem with MacBook pro 13 (2011)?

Recently, charging began to junk, the charge did not always start when connected, the wire crunched suspiciously near the connector. The laptop turned off a couple of times, now when it is turned on it does not see charging (the indicator on the plug is off), it writes that there is no battery (while it is running on battery power), the keyboard backlight does not work and the cooler is constantly on at full capacity (while the temperature of all nodes is normal) , the battery indicator LED (at the end) is also off.
What could happen to it (software failure or is it time to carry it in for repairs)?

suspiciously crunching wire near the connector

Most likely, the connector is covered - this often happens.

If the plug was covered, then he still managed to grab something with him, judging by the description of the problems. Definitely in repair, updating the system is unlikely to help here :(

If anyone has the same problem try resetting the SMC .
