Why is android x86 slow?

I installed android x86 (I tried the image x86 and x86_64 without a difference) and it slows down terribly, right after installation it’s not much, but then it’s so that it’s impossible to work at all. Physical machine AMD6300 + 4GB RAM, OS - Ubuntu 16.04.3, using virtualbox. I already allocated 1.5GB and 4 cores to it, but still, at first it became a little faster, but then it became stupid again. Hardware virtualization is enabled (I don’t know if this is really useful). On Ubuntu, only virtualbox, firefox and mitm proxy, it doesn’t even get into the swap.
What could be the problem?

Because running android on hdd in which vbox is running that emulates hdd in vhd or how you set it up there + there is no hardware support for video drivers, as a result there will be terrible brakes, no matter how many cores and RAM you would allocate to it.
