Why doesn't Intel PROSet stand up on an Intel adapter?
There is a non-new server. There are two "Intel 82574L Gigabit Network Connection" adapters on board, in addition to PCIe there is an "Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter" (which, by the way, is also on the 82574L chip).
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 EN
Drivers for all three adapters: native from Windows.
I want VLANY on the additional adapter (which CT). The description of the adapter says that VLANs are implemented using the Intel PROSet Utility and their own drivers. That's what google says.
I go to Intel downloads, download the latest drivers, all three adapters are listed as supported. I'm launching. I get a message that compatible adapters were not found in the system.
Tried on driver versions 24.* and 23.*
I tried separately drivers for Win2012 (PROWinx64.exe file) and a full bundle with all drivers and Autorun.
If you try to unpack the downloaded and manually replace the driver in the Device Manager, then Windows says that newer drivers are already installed.
I ask the audience for help.
PS. I haven't tried forcing drivers with pnputil yet.
P.P.S. I tried to run their own Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer.exe utility. Hangs in the processes, does not appear in any way. Doesn't like RDP?
