Why does Ubuntu stop loading when choosing a proprietary NVIDIA driver?
Am I the only one doing this, or is this a common problem?
Ubuntu 15.04 with all updates + Unity
Video card GF750M
upd: repeated on the same laptop, putting the OS clean - the situation repeats. Healed by installing Xfce-desktop. But somehow it annoys me, because the first time it happened, it did CTRL + F1
n’t even work for me.

You need to boot into recovery mode and look at the logs. Maybe your drivers do not support this card, but you do not indicate what version of the drivers you installed, what errors are in the log.
Driver "tested"? Did you install the driver through "Settings" -> "Additional Drivers"?
