Why does Ubuntu 16.04 amd64 freeze when I connect the TP-Link TL-WN822N USB network adapter?
Hello! Such a question - the next time I turn on the computer, I found that after entering it freezes - the desktop appears, then the cursor freezes and nothing happens (there is no reaction to keystrokes and the mouse). The computer has Ubuntu 16.04 amd64 installed. The computer is stationary, I connect to the Internet via a wireless connection via a TP-Link TL-WN822N USB adapter. Now I'm using LiveUSB with Ubuntu, I found an interesting feature: the computer does not freeze if the notorious wifi adapter is not connected to it. Before this, there was no such behavior, the adapter worked fine. I don't want to reinstall the system. How to solve this problem?
PS On Windows 10 the USB adapter works fine.

I have the same problem.
If wifi is connected before the system starts, the system simply does not boot, it hangs until the password is entered. If you plug it into usb after the start, it freezes when power is supplied to the device.
By trial and error, I found that this behavior starts with the version of the system kernel 4.4.0.63.
So far I'm doing it simply - during the boot process I select "additional options" and in the options I select the kernel version 4.4.0.62-generic
