Why does thunderbolt monitor turn off after sleep on macbook?

There is a macbook pro mid 2012, a thunderbolt monitor and a keyboard connected to it. OS X 10.9
The laptop is normally closed.
Pressing the space bar on the keyboard does not wake the computer from sleep mode. You need to open the laptop, then it wakes up from sleep mode, but the monitor does not turn on. You need to disconnect, then reconnect the thunderbolt and only then the monitor turns on. It turns out that the monitor is turned off in sleep mode from the laptop.
How to solve this problem?

You need to deal with the power saving settings (and not displays / monitors). I had this exact problem, however, with a Dell 2709 via a TB/DVI adapter. I couldn’t cope with the screens, but through the power saving settings everything turned on. (I don’t remember exactly what I pressed, it was a long time ago, about six months ago.)
