Why does the TV not show fullHD when connecting a laptop via hdmi?

Good day. There is an asus g752 laptop and an LG TV of the 2013 model year (I don’t remember the exact model). If you connect a laptop to a TV via hdmi and select screen duplication, then the TV shows a resolution of 1920x1080, and if you specify only duplicate the screen on the TV (the laptop screen turns off), then a clumsy resolution is shown (1600 with kopecks). How can this be fixed? There is no 1920 in resolution settings

Maybe not your case, but most TVs cut the matrix by 20-100 pixels on all sides. Yes, this means that all the pixels are not there and the 1920x1080 mode is actually a 1080p picture compressed into something like 1840x1022, for example. Everyone has it differently, but there are also full-pixel matrices in TVs. Run a picture with interlaced pixel color and see distortion. I wrote a program for myself to check such cases.
