Why does the screen remain off after connecting a laptop to a regular monitor from a computer via a standard VGA port?

I connected the laptop to a regular monitor from a computer through a standard VGA port.
Now when you disconnect the laptop from the monitor, the screen on it remains off. I tried to change it in the screen resolution settings just where I connected it, but everything was in vain, tell me what's the matter
(Win7x64 Laptop: HP pavilione g62 Monitor BENQ FP91G +)?
PS Key Fn + F4 Does not help.

Look at the settings Screen Resolution / Screen (this is if you right-click on the desktop). You most likely only have a monitor screen installed there. Select the laptop screen. Should work.

To switch between screens, you can use the Win + P combination.
However, as already mentioned above, it would be more correct to set the default settings so that you do not switch every time.
