How to create GUI in intellij idea?

I have a question. The standard intellij idea designer creates a form file, which is incomprehensible, because if you look at the source code, it does not inherit from either JPanel or JFrame, and does not create anything other than class fields with the name of the form, in which contains references to form elements. Does most of the code need to be written with pens? Netbeans, for example, automatically generates all of this.

An additional class is also created there (you need to check the box, sort of). All the code is there. Still in the settings there are designer settings. there you can choose whether to show the generated code.

Can you explain in more detail how to see the code of this "FORM" because I can't even add a button icon via "Form"?
