Why does the laptop turn off immediately after being turned on?

The topic is this: a friend bought a second-hand laptop, some kind of HP ... but it doesn’t matter. Everything seemed to work, but it suddenly stopped turning on. The following happens: I press the power button, the laptop starts to turn on, but after 2 seconds everything is cut down with a click. This click, as I understand it, is the heads parked in the hdd during an emergency shutdown .. and this may not be so important. The most interesting thing is that it starts turning on and off in this way cyclically and will not stop until you remove the battery.
At first they thought about the battery, got it and tried it only from the network - the same garbage.
What could be the problem?

Was it filled by chance?
you did not open it, did not check for the presence of oxidation of parts, etc.?
try to play around with the RAM - pull out one bar and turn it on, then another and turn it on. Suddenly a problem with the RAM.
And of course, banal problems with cooling, with a cooler (it may not spin or spin badly)

Disconnect hdd and dvd check if it happens again. If it behaves the same way Then take it apart, as you were advised above.
Z.Y. Check if there is a flash card in the card reader, once there was a case that similar symptoms were due to a broken flash drive

Same problem. I thought the bios battery changed. No result. Took it apart, cleaned it, changed the thermal paste. Did not help. Nurse?
