Why does iron work worse after applying more expensive thermal paste?

After applying expensive (unlike ours for 5 kopecks kpt-8) thermal paste for 500 rubles, which has a thermal conductivity 10 times greater than kpt-8, the old video card began to work worse, and the new laptop with a lid began to overheat, this was not the case before had to be removed.
Why does iron heat up more?
Is it really a matter of the thermal conductivity of the pastes and is it necessary to take a paste with a higher thermal conductivity for iron, which will have more active cooling?
Then how to calculate for which iron which paste?
Or everything doesn’t work like that, and you can at least apply metal paste for a few mowers, and even on ordinary coolers, such a paste will only get better, I didn’t understand the experience correctly (the more thermally conductive the paste, the more heat passes out and more heat needs to be dissipated (but heat pasta does not work out, so there is a paradox here) and there was no more heat before expensive pasta, everything was normal?

Did you study physics at school? How do you imagine the thermal conductivity is ten times greater?
Cpt is enough for 99 percent of the time, obviously you just applied the paste crookedly and there is no contact or air spot somewhere.
KPT is not made from sawdust if that

The thermal paste is from China. In China, just Chinese thermal conductivity, like watts

if you are not an overclocker, then there is no difference what kind of paste you apply
, the main thing is the radiator.
and how carefully you grind the radiator. lapping paste is generally minimized.

Because there were a lot of answers about thick or not thick paste, thermal pads, etc. I’ll say what you need to ask the offs. manufacturer what kind of paste is used there and whether it is used at all. If it is on sale, then buy it, if not, then the most approximate in terms of thickness and other parameters.

The paste is applied in a layer in order to expel clean air from the gap between the processor and the cooler sole, filling it with paste. Perhaps it was applied too thickly.

In general, I recently applied this paste instead of the already dried one, the temperature dropped significantly. The pasta is really good.
You most likely put it on badly.
In the comment, you indicated that you smeared the paste with a thin layer. Well, that's not very true.
The question is what you smeared, how you smeared, how thin a layer.
All in all, they just sucked.

if the radiator is on heat-conducting pipes with direct contact, then good thermal pastes can allow heat to be removed very pointwise, while the edges adjacent to the pipes (but not touching them) will overheat.
in this case, it is better to have some type of thermal pad, which would more evenly "distribute the cooling" over the entire surface.
although most likely it’s just that the clamp is weak, or shifted to one side (this also happens).

Incorrectly applied or applied instead of thermal rubber (common). Old/defective thermal paste. Coolant pipes damaged. Iron problems that you decided to cover up too late.
But in general, mx-4 or mx-2 is generally slightly better than kpt-8 and does not dry out a little longer. The key word is a little.
