Why does dropbox make a copy of all the files on my hard drive?

Need your advice.
When I copy some files to my dropbox, a copy of those files is created in C:\Users\....\Dropbox
How can I avoid this?

Delete the client on your computer if you only use the web

No, that's how dropbox works. Use Yandex.Disk.

You can set in the settings which folders do not need to be mirrored to a local disk. In this case, such folders will be present only in the "cloud". Later, you can check the checkbox in the client settings to enable the folder back.
