How to transfer Linux programs and settings to another computer?

Hello. I installed XUbuntu on my home computer, set it up, installed programs, now I want to install XUbuntu on my working computer, but I don’t want to spend time installing programs and setting up. How can I transfer data to another computer? Google gives various options, I'm new to Linux, I'm just learning. Tell me how to do everything right. Thanks in advance.

Same recipes as for the question: move Linux to another drive. There are a lot of solutions (for example, copy everything (more precisely, almost everything) using rsync. But this requires more or less good knowledge of the system. If it is not there, the result may not be what you would like.

It’s easy to transfer the settings (do it from root):

cd /
tar -cjvf myoldetc.tar.bz2 etc

Transfer the resulting archive to a new installation and ... no, in no case unpack it into /etc! And keep in your homework as a repository of ready-made settings, and a backup will not be superfluous.
Programs should not be transferred. Bubunta is a packaged distribution, in which all programs are stupidly installed from packages - just look at what was installed and install the same. And after installing the same one, you can transfer already configured configs. By the way, this requires some knowledge of the system and programs - stupid copying of who knows what can lead to a completely opposite result ...
