Why do you need to make a separate registration page?

I often see that a separate page is made for the registration form. Isn't it better to make a popup for conversion or place registration on the page itself?
What caused the removal of the form on a separate page?

Better of course. The main thing is that there are no glitches with scripts. I would not refuse a separate page as a backup for this very reason.
