Why do programs crash when I turn off my headphones (Windows 8.1)?

Programs that play sound crash (Windows 8.1) if you insert the wire from the headphones (ordinary jack) 2 times in a couple of seconds.
This means insert, pull out and insert again

Do not break the headphone jack. Your poking crashes the playback process, which is why some programs crash.

The logic of the sound card freezes when trying to understand what was put into it, and Windows cannot send data to the hung sound system, so the programs crash, it only happens by replacing the jack or socket with an unshakable one.
