Why do old games bought on Steam slow down on a laptop with an integrated graphics card?

Hello. There is a new Lenovo Ideapad laptop with an integrated Intel UHD 920 graphics card. 8 GB of RAM.
And the old games that I buy on Steam are terribly slow on it. For example, Deus Ex, which was already in its third decade and which 10 years ago literally flew on my then laptop - already quite ancient then.
So here's the question. What exactly is the problem? In video memory? The fact that the game was bought on Steam and does it have its own factors? Or in something else?

in the processor. It's too fast for older games. Turn on compatibility in Windows, match 1-2 CPU cores out of 4-16-32 available. Don't put junk in a place where UAC might accidentally hate it. Well, grant to the maximum (from the admin launch).
