Why did windows 8.1 go into an endless reboot loop?

After crashing (processor overheated), Windows 8.1 began to reboot endlessly with the message Your PC has run in problem and need to restart. At the bottom, the reason DRIVER_VIOLATION has been attributed. When trying to run a reinstall or system restore, the same message appeared. The boot menu where you can start safe mode does not work in Windows 8. I tried to start Ubuntu from USB, but the boot stuck. After that, Windows suddenly booted up to the point where a message appeared that the system had recovered from an error, and booted normally.
The issue is resolved, but I want to understand what caused it, and how to avoid this in the future?

Still not cold processor? My laptop also turned off when it overheated and then did not boot for 10 minutes.

The same problem. The netbook has already cooled down for a long time and still it has an endless reboot loop. What can you do to help.
