Video cards

Why did the FPS drop after an unsuccessful change in the frequency of the video card?

I play mainly War Thunder, FPS dropped noticeably in the game after I accidentally set about 1300-1600 MHz for the GPU Clock in the NVIDIA Inspector utility. After applying this frequency, the screen immediately filled with gray and I was forced to turn off the computer using the power button on the system unit.
After the reboot, I launched WarThunder and immediately noticed lags. I opened the NVIDIA Inspector again and looked at the current frequencies, everything was default (there are always all settings reset after a reboot), i.e. it is not clear where the lags come from.

Did I kill the video card because of setting an overestimated frequency? Can this be fixed somehow? Or maybe this setting has changed something in the system and it needs to be reset somehow?
