Why did the duplicator wordpress plugin start giving 500-504 errors?

Good afternoon. A few weeks ago, on different sites that are located on different hostings, when trying to create a backup, the duplicator plugin gives either 500 or 504 Internal Server Error errors. Backups before the error do not have time to be created. The plugin has not been updated anywhere, wordpress has updated itself somewhere, somewhere not. All versions are different, but all do not work en masse. I tried changing the value of max_execution_time but it didn't work. I don't even know where to dig anymore.
