Why did Photoshop ask for a color profile?

Hello! I installed the latest version of Photoshop, and now he constantly asks for a color profile, this was not the case before. For example, I drag a photo into Photoshop and a window appears asking me to change the color profile or not. But I repeat, I used to work, it never happened. I don’t understand these profiles, so I’m afraid to screw something up. How to solve it?

Do not understand - click "do not change profile."

I recommend that you start to understand what they are for. In short - so that the colors on your monitor (the monitor itself must be calibrated and this profile is installed in the system) match the colors on the device on which this photo will be displayed (not necessarily the monitor).
It all depends on where this photo goes next.
For printing, it is desirable to do it immediately in the profile that printing gives, otherwise the colors will vary greatly, because. printing devices already have a color gamut.
The web already needs an sRGB profile.
Etc.
Personally, I leave the sources without a profile, and then, depending on the purpose, I convert, correct the colors and give it to where it will be displayed.
