I recently read an opinion that it will soon be unprofitable to do only design, that the future belongs to people who, in one person, will make the layout and make up the site.
The fact is that I don’t like programming and layout for their abstractness (I want a red triangle - I take and draw a red triangle, and don’t describe with text that I need a div cut off on both sides, which has color: red), so I try join PS. Now I study the situation on the market and I will be grateful for your opinion.

Your wrong. Such people can only apply for frivolous projects.
In serious projects, there is always a deep specialization and different performers.
Yes, of course, knowledge of HTML / CSS does not hurt, and even more: a web designer needs some specific knowledge. For example, do you know which colors or gradients render seamlessly across different browsers?
You can draw anything. And how will it be implemented then? A good web designer knows all this and takes it into account.
A good web designer should understand usability. In fact, in most projects, the designer and the usability specialist are the same person.
