Why can't hp scan see the printer?

Ran into something weird. The user asked for the hp scan app to be installed. We use hp printing equipment everywhere and therefore there is nothing special about the request, many in the company work with this application. But when installing the full package of drivers or separately hp scan, the installer does not see the MFP. Even specifying the hostname or IP address, the situation does not change. The network printer works for the rest, moreover, the printer itself works quite well on this PC through the pcl 6 universal driver. Pings go, the web interface is available. Tell me what and / or how you can track all the actions of the installer? I want to understand at what stage it breaks off and what prevents it from finding a printer on the network.

Not all HP MFPs support network scanning from a user's computer. You can use Scan to Network Folder. And for a more complete answer, it is better to indicate the model of the MFP
