Why can't hashcat not find the password present in the enumeration?

I forgot the password for my multi-volume rar4 archive.
Extracted the hash using rar2john
$RAR3$*0* etc., which corresponds to hashcat module 12500. I ran a
search and the password was not found.
Then I remembered the password, and it was among those that had been tried.
For the test, I set a one-word dictionary search with the correct password and it still was not found.
