Why can a virtual machine run slowly?

Iron. 8GB of RAM. q6600 processor, GT430 graphics card. ssd installed recently, it got a little better.
The graphics in the virtual machine are very slow. Tell me what needs to be updated to fix this situation. Or if you should already completely upgrade your computer, which should be paid special attention to.
I use vmware all the necessary drivers are installed. host win7 x64 guest win7 x86

If only they would tell you which operating systems are used on the host and guest. And what hypervisor. And are the latest drivers in the host and guest.
I see VirtualBox and Windows in the crystal ball, but guest additions are not installed in the guest. Bet.

And, well, yes, without a separate dedicated video card for a virtual machine, 3d will not work quickly.

UPD guest system and not, it probably will not work to forward the video card either, the system will not allow
